About this place
Some diners have praised the thick, delicious sashimi; others remember the care taken with the cuts and presentation of the assorted sashimi platter.
Jiyugaoka Uonari serves seafood dishes including sashimi, grilled items and fried dishes, with rice cooked with other ingredients as an option to finish the meal. Choices include rice cooked with Akashi octopus and rice cooked with wild sea bream. One diner who ordered the octopus rice in a clay pot recalled that the rice was cooked on the soft side and infused with the octopus’s flavour. For a more generously topped dish, consider the Hokkaido Four-Ingredient Clay-Pot Rice, combining sea urchin, salmon roe, crab and salmon.
The restaurant suits an evening of nibbling on sashimi and small plates, as well as a meal in a private room or at the counter. Reservations are recommended for dinner.
